La Costa is a long running Mexican restaurant serving the Burien and greater Seattle area from 206 SW 152nd St, a spot that feels casual, colorful, and easy to settle into. The restaurant is often listed as La Costa Mexican Restaurant, and its menu focuses on the familiar Mexican dishes people crave for lunch, dinner, group meals, and relaxed nights out.

The menu has a broad mix of classic Mexican favorites. Guests can find burritos, enchiladas, chimichangas, quesadillas, chile relleno, tortilla soup, fajitas, tacos, flautas, taquitos, and combination plates. That range makes La Costa useful for many kinds of diners. Someone may want a light soup or veggie burrito, another person may go for a cheesy chimichanga, and a group can share appetizers before ordering full plates.

One of the strongest parts of La Costa is its comfort food style. The plates feel generous and familiar, with rice, beans, sauces, melted cheese, tortillas, guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo showing up across the menu. Tamales with rich sauce, enchiladas, and chile relleno add that classic sit down Mexican restaurant feel. The food does not try to be overly fancy. It leans into flavor, portion size, and the simple pleasure of a warm plate arriving at the table.

La Costa also works well for groups and parties. Its catering-style platters include mini chimichangas, quesadillas, flautas, taquitos rancheros, chicken taquitos, guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo. These dishes are easy to share, which fits birthdays, office meals, family gatherings, or casual get togethers. For dine in guests, the same style carries into the restaurant mood: relaxed, friendly, and built around shared food.

The vibe is welcoming and local. It feels like the kind of neighborhood Mexican restaurant where guests come back for reliable favorites, quick service, and a meal that feels satisfying without being formal. The location on SW 152nd St places it in the heart of Burien’s dining area, making it easy to pair with errands, a family dinner, or a casual stop with friends.

La Costa is a solid choice for Mexican food near Seattle and Burien, especially for diners who enjoy burritos, enchiladas, chimichangas, fajitas, quesadillas, tamales, tortilla soup, and shareable appetizer platters. It brings a warm local feel, a wide menu, and familiar Mexican comfort dishes to one easygoing restaurant.

As someone who grew up in San Diego and even lived in Tijuana, I have a pretty high bar for Mexican cuisine, and finding truly great Mexican food further north, matching the quality I'm accustomed to, is often a challenge; however, I must say this spot holds its own quite well, and I don't mean that as faint praise. The atmosphere here is fantastic, and the food itself was definitely good, though the service was only average, perhaps due to them experiencing an exceptionally busy period. I plan to revisit and will share an updated perspective if I do, but stepping inside, you're immediately transported, feeling as though you've found an authentic Mexican eatery right in Mexico.

Our experiences at La Costa are always fantastic! We consistently find the food to be incredibly delicious, the team working there is wonderfully friendly, and the drinks are definitely made with a generous hand. I absolutely suggest ordering the carne asada; it's remarkably tender and so full of flavor, easily my favorite dish on their entire menu.

My recent visit to 206 SW 152nd St in Seattle, WA 98166, was truly delightful. The establishment immediately enveloped me in a warm and inviting ambiance, making me feel completely at ease. It was impressive to see how bustling the restaurant was, even on a weekday, which speaks volumes about its popularity during an off-peak time. The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming; their familiarity with each other by name fostered a wonderfully friendly environment. I found the portion sizes to be quite generous, and the food lived up to its reputation, tasting so incredible that our table fell silent, completely engrossed in every bite. While finding a parking spot proved a little tricky due to limited availability, this minor inconvenience quickly faded once we were comfortably seated. My only small suggestion would be to expand the vegetarian selections, as I, like many others, don't always opt for meat. Nevertheless, I wholeheartedly recommend experiencing this place for yourself!
